As the founder and CEO of A Touch of Grace Hospice, I would like to share with you why this organization was formed and what makes us unique.
My primary desire in forming this organization was to provide hospice care at its best, which is why we consistently strive for excellence in everything we do here at A Touch of Grace Hospice. Another important factor was the need to address the disparity in the use of hospice care among minority populations, particularly African Americans, which is where the biggest disparity exists according to data from The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and national healthcare vital statistics.
With these goals at the front of our minds, we opened the doors of A Touch of Grace Hospice in August 2005. Since that time we have had the privilege of caring for many patients and families from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Our goals of bridging the gap in the use of hospice services and providing quality care at its best, are just as important now as they were when we opened. We are dedicated to reaching out and providing community education wherever and whenever we can.
A Touch of Grace Hospice is also committed to advancing hospice care internationally. Our organization has adopted, and continues to partner with, Nyeri Hospice in Kenya, Africa to help improve the quality of care provided abroad. Through this partnership, we impact lives with financial support, education and collaboration.
It is my passion for culturally and spiritually sensitive hospice care that drives my commitment to continue to serve the community via A Touch of Grace Hospice. Thank you for allowing me to share my passion with you.
